Stone's Throw

This was our third time at Stone’s Throw and once again, we had a great stay. A few more homes have popped up (including a tall house on the first row) since our last visit, but the views from the deck were still good enough for us. We liked the close proximity to restaurants and the big store that minimized driving and allowed us more time for relaxing. And the large dining table is perfect for working that 1000 piece puzzle purchased at the big store!

The beach house was very good for us. It was clean and had all the facilities of home. The air conditioning worked great and we had no trouble sleeping at night. We will surely rent this place again.

Has been 25 yrs since I’ve been to Bolivar. Much has changed because of the Hurricane but some the same. Beach and shelling was great and the house was a Stones Throw from the beach. Super crowded on Saturday but rest of the week was great.

The house was well equipped, including chairs to take to the beach. Wish the porch had been covered for sunny and rainy days, but we still enjoyed our stay very much.

I would say that Stones throw is exactly that. The location might be a tenth of a mile from the beach. You can sit on the front deck for your morning cup of coffee and watch the gulf and listen to the waves hit the beach. I was pleasantly surprised that the local grocery store had a better stock than what I expected for being on the Bolivar Peninsula including their selection of wine. I would suggest bringing a small cordless vacuum along if you have one as a quick once over each day keeps the sand on the floors under control. Sand seems to appear from nowhere even when you drop your shoes outside and rinse off in the outside shower after walking the beach. The property has only a broom available for the guests. The kitchen is ample with a decent selection of pots, pans and utensils. A small Weber Kettle charcoal grill is kept in the shed on the property.

The week we spent at Stone's Throw was fantastic! Everything we needed -- made it feel just like home. Proximity to the beach was perfect -- beautiful views and an easy walk to the water.

We stayed at this same house 8 years ago and loved it both times. The location is so great for the price, a quick walk to the beach and great views. The house was stocked with everything we needed and more!

Great weekend, very nice place that suited us perfectly. I'll plan to return when I can stay longer.We ate out once and cooked in the house once. Plenty of pots, pans, utensils and whatever was needed.
